GA 31
State Route 31 (SR 31) is a state highway that runs south-to-north through portions of Lowndes, Lanier, Clinch, Atkinson, Coffee, Telfair, Wheeler, Laurens, Johnson, and Dodge counties in south-central Georgia. The route runs from its southern terminus at SR 145 and the Florida state line to its northern terminus at US 319, SR 15, SR 57, and SR 78 in Wrightsville.
From its southern terminus at the Florida state line, the route travels northeast to Valdosta. After a brief concurrency with US 41/SR 7 in the city, the route becomes cosigned with US 221. The routes travel northeast to Lakeland. After a brief concurrency in Lakeland with US 129/SR 11, the routes continue northeast to Pearson, where they begin a concurrency with US 441 north to Douglas. In Douglas, the three routes intersect SR 135. At this point, US 221 departs to the northeast concurrent with SR 135. US 441/SR 31 continue north. Shortly before crossing the Ocmulgee River, US 319 becomes cosigned with the two routes, and they travel north toward McRae. Just before McRae, the three routes begin a brief concurrency with US 280/SR 30. In McRae, the concurrency intersects US 23/US 341/SR 27. US 319/US 441/SR 31 continue north to Dublin. In Dublin, the routes intersect US 80/SR 19/SR 26, as well as SR 29. US 441 departs to the northwest, concurrent with SR 29. US 319/SR 31 continue to the east, on a concurrency with US 80/SR 26/SR 29, to East Dublin. Then, they continue northeast to Wrightsville. State Routes 15, 57, and 78 intersect the two routes, and SR 31 meets its northern terminus, as SR 78 continues the concurrency with US 319 northeast of the city.
A largely rural route, SR 31 sees only minor traffic except around Valdosta, Douglas, and Dublin. Much of the route sees an Average Annual Daily Traffic (AADT) of 10,000 vehicles or less.
State Route 31 Connector (SR 31 CONN) is a short connector route near Lakeland.
