PA 261
Pennsylvania Route 261 (PA 261) is a 2.5 mile-long state highway located entirely in Bethel Township, Delaware County, Pennsylvania. Also known as Foulk Road, the route runs from U.S. Route 322 south to the Delaware border, where Foulk Road continues as Delaware Route 261 towards Wilmington, Delaware. Pennsylvania Route 261 intersects with Pennsylvania Route 491 in Booth Corner. Historically, Pennsylvania Route 261 continued north from US 322 on Foulk Road and Valley Brook Road to U.S. Route 1 in Chester Heights, however this section has been decommissioned.
PA 261 begins at the Delaware border in Bethel Township, Delaware County, where the road continues south into that state as DE 261. From the state line, the route heads northeast on two-lane undivided Foulk Road, passing through residential areas as it crosses Zebley Road. In the community of Booth Corner, PA 261 crosses PA 491, at which point the road passes a few businesses. North of this intersection, the road runs between a tank farm to the west and Bethel Springs Elementary School to the east prior to crossing Bethel Road and entering wooded residential neighborhoods. PA 261 ends at an interchange with US 322, with Foulk Road continuing north to an intersection with Concord Road, Chelsea Road, and Valley Brook Road.
PA 261 north of US 322 was decommissioned, but the route is still driveable. It very briefly went onto eastbound Concord Road, before turning north on Valley Brook Road and eventually ending at US 1.
The entire route is in Delaware County.
